 There are so many places and different types of fishing
 in Charlotte  County and the surrounding area.
South-west Florida is truly an anglers dream come true,
here are some places you may not know,

These are just some of the places not all or maybe not even the best ones,
they are just some I have posted. Little by little I will get more.

                           from the beach.

 Bokeelia Pier  A Pay to fish pier

 

El Jo Bean-

El Jo Bean   El Jo Bean fishing pier. Located on the Myakka River. 

El jo Ramp   Located just off the Myakka River on a canal in El Jo Bean.  2012
                             Yes this is a Public pay to park ramp

Englewood

Tom Adams pier   Shore fishing ,/Pier this is in Englewood.

Indian Mound  Englewood ramp on the intercostals Very cool Park

Grove city Ramp  This boat ramp is on Placida road or 775 it is a nice ramp for small flats boats.
                            some of the way out can be very shallow. if you have a 1.5 tide or more it is really nice ramp.  

Stump Pass park   Stump Pass allows you fish the intercoastal as well as the gulf, really nice place.  

 

Harbour Heights

Harbour Hieghts   This is a great windy day ramp.         
                           Just north of I-75 on the Peace River.  

 

North Port-

North Port ramp  This is a Salt/ brackish water Ramp in North Port 

Pine Island-
Bokeelia Pier  A Pay to fish pier

 

Port charlotte -

N. end 41  North end of the 41 Gilchrest Bridges

bay shore Pier   Shore fishin / Best in spring and summer for Shark & cobia , winter time good sea trout,

Collingswood    A place on the bank to fish. Above a spillway, but has some Salt water fish.

East spring lake    shore fishing from sea wall, No railings "not a pier"
                            Just a nice place to fish, there is sort of a path from
                            down to the sea wall. Oh yeah watch out for traffic
                              when getting out of your car, there is a road there.

Edgewater Ramp     Deep water at ramp, but extremely  
                            shallow access to the Harbor.

Lister Park  Just up from Fishin Franks, On a Canal a favorite of the local kids 2012
                            for Big Snook & Trout

P.C.Beach  Off Harbor blvd right in town 2 minutes from Fishin Franks

Spill ways   These are where the fresh water canals dump into the Salt water.
                             Great after a rain for Snook & ??? other types of fish.

Placida-

Placida trestle    Placida Trestle, South Pier,  Shore fishing ,  Boca Grande/ Gasparilla Island.
                             The pier may be reached by boat, it is a short ride from Placida ramp.

Placida Ramp   good ramp, quick to the gulf, any size boat.
                           not really any place to fish here. just a ramp. 

Ainger Crk ramp  This boat ramp is on Placida road or 775 it is a nice ramp for small flats boats.
                            some of the way out can be very shallow. if you have a 1.5 tide or more it is really nice ramp.

Coral Cr. Pier  Good fishin pier across the street from the Placida Trestle same Parking lot.

Placida Area  this takes you to, the boat Ramp, The Trestle, & south pier.

 

Punta Gorda-

aligator tressel   Shore fishing right along side 41 just south of Punta Gorda / 
                            can be reached by boat long ride from any ramp.

Darst Ramp   Good ramp Very shallow access to the I-75 area of the peace river 
                             boat ramp, Shore fishing here for Reds and Snook

Eleizabeth Park   a nice park next to Bass inlet in P.G.I.  2013

Gilchrest Pier     a Nice fishing pier in down town Punta Gorda.    2012

Patty Ave Pier   A fishin Pier in Punta Gorda. 2013

Ponce De Leon   Boat ramp / fishing docks/ picnic area. 

River side ramp   Boat ramp, on Shell Creek Salt /Brackish water, Shore fishing in the park from land.

Allapatchee   This boat ramp /park is slat water good Snook fishing on the upper Aligator Creek

South gulf cove

Butterford ramp   This ramp is located in South gulf cove area. It is both fresh & salt water "Brackish" 2012

S,G.C. Ramp     This is a very nice Park with Picnik areas piers & Boat ramp.
                         is located in South gulf cove area. It is both fresh & salt water "Brackish"  2012

 Fuel docks  where to get fuel on the water
Deep V places  these are spots for boats who draft more water
                       our deep "V" friends.

Reefs    Reefs & wrecks in charlotte Harbor, and the Gulf of Mexico,  2012 up dated
                                 keep in mind Boca Grande Pass is Lee County

14 foot hole   Located at the mouth of the Myakka River.        2011

Alligator Creek   North east side of Charlotte Harbor.          2011

Alligator Reef  This is the reef just south of Punta Gorda , 2011
                               and west of Alligator creek

Burnt Store  Southern end of Charlotte Harbor, East side,
                           Fishing any where but the channel is extremely shallow access.

Cape Haze reef   The best of the in Harbor big fish reefs

Cattle Dock   On the Myakka River good place for Reds

deep Holes   You could call these the tarpon holes of Charlotte Harbor.
                            There are three of them sort of in a row. Good spots for Shark or Tarpon.   2011

Jug Creek shoals   Lower Harbor, at the North end of Pine island.   2012

locks SGC  enter off the Myakka River  2012

Sans Souic  Shell creek, across from Harbour Heights, off the Peace river.

Tippy Canoe   Off the Myakka River,
                            Great winter time Sea Trout fishing.

flats Shallow water fishing,

Barge canal   More of a Kayak spot but if you have a skinny running boat.
                            This is just south of Ponce de Leon park.

Blow down creek   This creek is small but interesting,
                             and is located on the west wall of Charlotte Harbor   2011

Bull Bay    Back bay fishing close to the inter-coastal   2012

Burnt Store  Southern end of Charlotte Harbor, East side,
                           Fishing any where but the channel is extremely shallow access.

cape Haze   This is at the lower end of the west wall.   2012

Comorant Key  On the east keys side of Charlotte Harbor.  2012

East Keys   East side,  How to get on the flats on the east side of the Harbor.

Gallagher"s cut   Located at the south end Turtle Bay.
                            This is a shallow water access, with deep water with-in the cut.

Hobbs   East side of Charlotte Harbor.

Muddy bay  Just north of Cape Haze, Muddy bay & the G.W. extensions
                           are great cool weather heavens for fish. Very skinny getting in.  2012

Oyster Creek  This is a creek with a small tidal pond, on the west side of Charlotte Harbor.

Poachers Cut   This is the cut to get from the P.G.I. canals to Alligator Creek.
                             not much for fishin but a good thing to know.

Rocky Creek   Upper north end of Charlotte Harbor.

Shell creek dam    Off the peace river.

Two Pines   South of Burnt store Marina, across from the North end of Pine Island, very shallow  2010

West Wall   shallow located on the western shore od Charlotte Harbor behind the Sand Bar.

 


Fresh water, Boat ramps with shore fishin.

760 fishing spot   Fresh water,  Shore fishing or/  you can launch small shallow draft boat. /
                            This is located in-between Port Charlotte and Arcadia. Good Snook fishing..

9 mile ramp   This is a freshwater boat ramp in North Port on the Coco Plum or 9 mile canal

Cecil Webb   Freshwater fishing from land or boat at the state wild life man agent area.

hathaway park  .Fresh water Boat ramp and shore fishing, Shell creek & prairie creek,

Myakka Park   Myakka River State park.

Prairie Creek   Fresh water fishing, and slid in sort of ramp. Off hwy 17 north/east of Punta Gorda.

Collingswood    A place on the bank to fish. fresh /salt / brackish 
                             you might find bass here but it is classified as Salt water

Ollie Pond    A small pond In Murdock, Right in town.   2012
